Using Search in iOS

Introduction

The more things (Contacts, Apps, Music, Mail, Calendar appointments, Reminders, etc.) that are on your iPad, the harder it is to find them quickly. For your apps, folders help, however there is an easy way to quickly find the item that you are looking for… Spotlight Search.

The Search feature in iOS has it’s own screen. It can be found by swiping from left to right on the Home Screen or by single tap on the home button, from the Home Screen.

Introduction

The Search Screen

After getting to the Search Screen the keyboard pops up and you can start typing your query in the Search field. As you type more letters the search narrows and when you see what your looking for, either Tap on the item or Tap Search on the Key Board. You will now go directly to the item that you want.

Choosing What to Search

To adjust the settings, Tap Settings > General > Spotlight Search and you will find everything that you can search for. Here you can enable or disable any of the topics. To do so just check or un-check them. You can also rearrange the order of how your search items appear. To do so tap and hold the 3 bars on the right and then drag the item up or down.
